The ABB IRB 140 is a small but exceptionally fast and accurate robot. Unlike many other robots of same payload capacity, the IRB 140 is solidly constructed and is a full power industrial machine. This robot can be floor, ceiling or wall mounted. The 140 can be fitted in a very small space, even inside another machine. The 140 is perfect for machine tending, pick and place work, MIG and TIG welding, lightweight grinding, cutting, fettling and polishing applications. The Robot IRB 140 comes with full size ABB S4C+ M2000 control cabinet. This means that installation is straightforward and designed for a proper industrial environment. The M2000 S4C+controller has a PC style computer which allows greater connectivity and has much greater power than its predecessors. Similarities to the S4C include the servo drive system, the programming language and teach pendant. The controller is normally supplied with one I/O card giving 16 inputs and 16 outputs and it can be fitted with many more if needed. Analogue I/O is also available. The controller can also work as a PLC by controlling and monitoring I/O signals. 3 background programs can be run in parallel with the actual robot program and even when the robot program has stopped. The IRB 140 arm is available as a totally enclosed robot with IP67 protection. It has been installed in many factories around the world and proven itself to be exceptionally reliable even in very demanding circumstances.
